Ekahau released a new version of Site Survey
- Fixed issues:
- Several spinning wheel issues fixed on Mac OS. SPOD no more!
- Certain visualizations showed only white when the values on map exceeded value range in the legend, SNR being the main culprit. Behold, it’s fixed!
- Default coverage profile (Voice+Data) and channel overlap visualization now use the same default minimum signal strength setting
- Auto-planner no longer gets errors with certain type of building coordinates
- Visualization refresh no longer ceases working when you adjust capacity area size while pressing CTRL/CMD
- Several CAD layer names have now been fixed to work better with ESS CAD import
- Coverage profile names are now properly updated after being changed within auto-planner dialog window
- Active survey data no longer gets disconnected from the intended access points in AP-on-stick projects
- Auto-planner no longer crashes if you try to make a plan for 802.11b clients. Let’s not forget the elderly!
- “Clients per AP” visualization now shows disabled radios in the same way both in ESS and in reports. “Same way” is a code word for “Correctly”.
- Visualization legend is no longer missing boundary values in reporting, even if there’s no visualization found for that value range.
- Bandwidth selection is now properly disabled if no access points are selected when using “Selected APs” mode
- 2.4 Ghz / 5 Ghz band toggle now shows visualization for the bands correctly even if project is opened while only one band is toggled.
- Right-click menus are no longer unusable on Mac OS when “Selected access points” filter is used.
- New features and improvements:
- General performance improvements and memory usage optimization
- Changed the rendering of SVG images to increase performance. Prepare yourself for much smoothness.
- All drawn area elements (Capacity, Exclusion, Attenuation and Hole in the Floor areas) now snap together seamlessly. No more infuriating little gaps or overlapping between areas.
- Added Ubiquiti multi-mac logic
- Improved Extreme Networks multi-mac logic
- Improved Cisco Meraki multi-mac logic
- Improved Huawei multi-mac logic
- Added a warning to capacity visualizations (Airtime, Clients per AP & C. Health) if no clients are assigned to the areas. In other words, capacity visualizations now say “Nothing to see here” more clearly.
- Improvements on channel planner’s 2.4 Ghz band channel allocation
- Channel planner remembers user selections better when switching between different bandwidths. Channel planner has learned some manners and doesn’t anymore deselect the channels you’ve previously selected.
- Now you can also set the preferred capacity settings as defaults in “Network configuration” window.
- Toolbar row can re-adjust itself on two rows if the window or resolution is too low. No more tools wandering off screen!
- Visualization contours are now also affected by opacity settings
- New access points and antennas:
