Configuring internal DSL for Annex A line (like in Netherland)

A UK customer expanded to the netherlands where the local provider “Van den Bulk Telecom” delivered only a dsl line. So we need a Cisco Router with a built in modem with options for later VDSL use. Actually they provide an ADSL Annex A line. The provider gives us the following informations:

Line: ADSL2+ over POTS
Type: Annex A
Speed: 20.000/1.024
VPI: 0
VCI: 35
Login via: PPPoA
Operating-Mode: vmux
PPPoE-Login and -Password: anything

We have chosen the model 887VA Router:

Router#show inventory
NAME: “887VA”, DESCR: “887VA chassis, Hw Serial#: xxx, Hw Revision: 1.0”
PID: CISCO887VA-SEC-K9 , VID: V02, SN: xxx

first I configured a normal dialer interface for login

interface Dialer1
ip address negotiated
ip mtu 1492
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly in
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool 1
dialer-group 1
ppp authentication chap pap callin
ppp chap hostname blabla
ppp chap password blabla
ppp pap sent-username blabla password blabla

after this we need the correct atm-config for this. Based on the information given by the provider, I tried this:

interface ATM0
no ip address
no atm ilmi-keepalive
pvc 0/35
encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer
dialer pool-member 1
no shutdown

the customer connected the delivered device directly to the adsl line and it worked from start :) didn’t thought that this would work like a charm!
